The Chattooga River Festival is a charitable 501(c)3 organization that was created to encourage environmental stewardship in conjunction with the responsible recreational use of the Chattooga River watershed. Its mission is to increase awareness of the importance of protecting and preserving the unique ecological environment and scenic beauty of this invaluable resource.
2012 marks the first, in what is anticipated to become an annual event with the 2014 festival already targeted to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Chattooga River Wild and Scenic designation by the United States Congress.
Festival Partners
The Festival is organized by a coalition of interested parties including: Rabun County Chamber of Commerce, Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, Westminster Chamber of Commerce, Rabun County CVB, Mountain Lakes CVB, Discover Upcountry South Carolina, Explore Georgia, regional businesses and non-profit organizations.
